Only A Fling Dark Mafia

Chapter 1

Lucas

Lucas walked into the classroom with his laptop bag slung casually over his shoulder, pushing a

hand through his chestnut brown hair. The titters and whispers of the students stopped as he

went up to the teacher's podium.

His blue eyes scanned the classroom carefully. "Hi everyone. I'm Professor Lucas Farrell, and

I'm taking over Professor Lancaster's poetry course for this term." He could see a few girls' eyes

widen at his appearance.

It happened to him a lot. People saw his good looks and reacted a certain way. So, okay. He

was young, attractive, and a tenured professor. Lucas didn't feel like he needed to apologize for

any of that.

He started up his presentation on his laptop and quickly took attendance. Looking up to match

names to faces, he suddenly experienced almost an electric shock. His brain froze completely.

It couldn't be...

Flashback

Sand between his toes... a beautiful girl on the beach... a whole crowd of people, dancing and

cheering to the music coming from the huge speakers next to the concert stage...

Suddenly the beautiful girl was kissing him out of nowhere! She just threw her arms around

Lucas and placed her lips to his mouth. He couldn't understand it, but he knew he would always

remember that first kiss...

Present-day

Lucas did remember her. He never got her name, but he could never forget her face. She was

so beautiful. She was sitting right there. In his classroom. Looking at him like she too was so

shocked to see him!

Well, ok, so obviously. A lot more had happened after that first kiss. It was really awkward now,

though. His mystery girl from the concert, all the way across the country on the West Coast.

Now sitting in his class at New York University. What were the odds of that?

Lucas was a professor of literature, not of mathematics. But the odds of this happening had to

be incredibly small. It was just bad luck.

He knew better than anyone why faculty should avoid any personal involvement with students.

But Lucas could not imagine how the siren from the sea who enchanted him could just sit there.

In class. Twirling her blonde ponytail around her finger like any other innocent student. Not

even looking at him with those shining emerald eyes. It would be so embarrassing. For both of

them.

Imagine if the rest of the class found out that the two of them had seen each other naked.

Lucas cursed himself for his inappropriate thoughts and swiftly focused on the lesson.

Introduction to Poetry, the Great American Poets module. Okay. He was ready.

Taking a deep breath, he tried to remain unaffected. It was really important for him to stay in

control. It was his first day of a new job. He had to make a good impression.

First of all, he had to stay calm and confident. Secondly, he had to control his voice, because

vocal delivery was so important for teaching poetry. Third, he had to stop thinking about her

legs.

Shit.

He was totally thinking about her legs.

He couldn't help it. Lucas had never seen more amazing legs in his life. His mystery girl's legs

reminded him of Julia Roberts in the movie Pretty Woman. 88 inches of therapy wrapped

around him.

Well, he didn't have an exact measurement, because once again, Lucas was no expert in

mathematics. But he knew some type of perfection when he saw it.

Yeah, amazing legs. But when he took her to bed, she looked like a mermaid. Beautiful like the

sea.

Flashback

Lucas quickly realized why the most beautiful girl he had ever seen had really kissed him. She

was just trying to drive off two stalkers or something.

She seemed to be alone, like he was. Being a nerd, huge concerts weren't really his thing. He

was experiencing something completely new, and he wasn't sure if he would like it. But since

she was there, he stayed.

They watched Kendrick Lamar together, having a really great time just hanging out. Then Doja

Cat came on, and the vibe of the concert turned a bit more sexual.

Okay, a lot more sexual.

They had a few drinks inside of them by then, and they ended up dancing together by the

second song. Something about this girl had Lucas hooked. It was an adventure for him.

Before, they were laughing and giggling together like old friends. This dance was something

more than that, though. It was close and hot and exciting. Something like a dream made real.

Later, they ended up in bed. Her hair spread out on the pillow, her fantastic legs wrapped

around him. Best night of his life, no doubt about it. But she left while he was still sleeping.

That's why he never got her name.

Present-day

While Lucas taught, he kept flicking sideways glances at the attendance sheet. He still didn't

know her name. But his plan was to put a big red cross across any memory of her outside class.

Because if anyone found out about them, the dream would turn into a total nightmare.

That's why he started quickly leaving, the second the bell rang at the end of the class.

Unfortunately, some of the other female students were not ready to let him go.

They were crowding around him, asking questions, flipping their hair. One girl even tried to take

a selfie with him, like he was in a boyband or something. Apparently he was that much of a

campus celebrity?

How flattering. Lucas rolled his eyes mentally.

In the meantime, the one girl he was actually interested in, but didn't dare speak to, was still

there. She was slowly coming down the steps of the lecture well. Lucas self-consciously didn't

look at her.

His mystery girl was still so beautiful, but in a different way. Her glorious legs were covered up in

casual jeans. She was wearing a loose T-shirt, with a heavy backpack on her shoulders.

Just a typical student's look. Nothing mysterious about her, except she kept appearing in

Lucas's dreams. Was it really just last week since they met? It felt like a lifetime in his memory.

Unfortunately, in his mind, she was naked and making love to him. It was so hot, and so wrong!

Lucas did not, could not dare to look at her directly. Not in a classroom, at least.

The crowd in front of him shifted. He looked up and saw her, her eyes fixed on him. She was

opening her mouth to speak.

Lucas turned and ran for his life. Was she crazy? Did she want to get him fired or something?

Seraphina

"Okay, so then I left in the middle of the night, and I'll probably never see him again, but oh my

God, Ashley," Sera groaned, "I can't stop thinking about him!"

Sera's best friend Ashley rolled her eyes. "I remember you said that about Harry Styles. And

then what happened?"

"I suddenly stopped loving him and switched to Zayn, instead," said Sera guiltily. "But I wasn't

betraying you, Ash. Directioners together forever, you know we promised!"

Ashley and Seraphina had their heads down together over the desk, whispering to each other

before the class started.

Ash started laughing softly. "Okay, okay. And this guy reminded you of Zayn?"

"No! He was just really sweet, and yes, also really hot, and he was kind enough to help me at

first, so I bought him a few drinks to make up for it, and then- and then..."

"And then one thing led to another. I get it." Ashley's eyes twinkled, making her violet-coloured

contacts sparkle as well.

Ashley really did get it. Ash and Sera had been best friends forever. They knew everything

about each other. Including all about Sera's recent adventures in the Wild Wild West.

"At least admit that I was right to force you to go to the concert," Ash nudged Sera. "You didn't

even want to go. And you needed the break, Sera, you know you did."

It was true. Things had been so crazy at Sera's house lately, she desperately needed to get

away. She turned and gave Ash an impulsive hug.

"You're always right," Sera told the shorter girl, ruffling her hair. "You're my rock. You always

have been."

Ash waved her hand dismissively. "So more about this guy. Give me all the hot tea. Was he

kinky? Rough? How many stars out of five?"

Sera burst out laughing loudly. A few of the girls in the row in front of them turned around to look

at her, then went back to gossiping among themselves.

"Ash! You're so bad!" Ash grinned shamelessly. "Okay, but it wasn't like that. It was special. At

least, it felt special to me."

"So that's why you couldn't ask for his name or number? He was so special, he had no phone or

identity? Was this guy even real, or did you just dream him up?" Ash arched her eyebrows, only

half joking.

"No! He was real! I mean, obviously he was real. But maybe you're right." Sera looked down at

the desk a little sadly. "Maybe it was too much like a dream. Too good to be true, maybe."

Ash frowned. She knew where Sera was coming from, but she didn't like this sudden

mood-switch. Sera normally had a very sunny and sweet personality.

"It's only a fling, babes," said Ash, trying to be upbeat. "You don't need to break your heart over

some random guy you met at a concert for one night, even if he was super hot. It's okay."

Sera smiled, but she still felt a little pensive. She wanted to think of the whole thing as a dreamy

encounter, an adventure for one night only. But there had been something about that guy. Had

to be.

Why else was she still dreaming about him?

Before she could pursue this thought further, one of the gang of girls in front of them turned

around and asked excitedly, "So have you guys seen him?"

"Seen him?" parroted Sera. For a crazy moment she thought the other girl was talking about her

own guy from the concert.

"The new Prof? Professor of Hotness, they're calling him. Word on the street is, he's super

young, really ripped, and he even comes from an ultrarich family! He's the total package,

apparently!"

Ash snorted. "Yeah, we all know how you feel about big packages, Keri."

The whole group burst out laughing, Sera included. Ash was too sarcastic sometimes. But it

was true, the other girl had something of a wild sexual reputation on campus.

Keri flipped her tawny hair back. "Yeah, so I like my men like I like my cars- smooth, hot, and

smelling like money. What's wrong with that?"

Sera knew Keri also came from a very wealthy family. She herself had to struggle a lot to even

pay her basic tuition fees, but jealousy wasn't in her nature. She smiled at Keri.

"I hope you get him, then," said Sera lightly. "He sounds like a real catch!"

"Oh, Keri's got her hooks out, don't worry," drawled one of the other girls,"but then so does

everyone else. Wait and see."

Seems like she's right, thought Sera. The new professor had just walked in, and the reaction

from the class was something else. Fluttery and giggling. Faculty members didn't usually look

like this.

She frowned a bit.

The professor introduced himself and began the roll-call. Sera was still staring. Surely it couldn't

be...

Those eyes. That hair. She seemed to remember gripping that very hair so tightly when he

made her scream.

Oh no. Oh no. This couldn't possibly be happening to her. No way in hell it was him.

Ash nudged her. "What happened? You look weird."

"I feel weird," Sera muttered back. It was true. The moisture was already pooling between her

legs, thinking of the seductive things this man had done to her body. No. No, how could it be

him?

He looked up at her suddenly, and she almost started shaking. He's seen me. He knows it was

me!

"Sera? What's wrong?"

Sera couldn't speak. She could only lower her head and try to hide.

She was going to be that girl on campus now, if people ever found out about this. The one who

had a fling with her professor.

As if her life wasn't complicated enough already!

She needed to breathe. Okay.

Sera knew she needed to make some type of plan. First, she had to check if it really was the

same guy. Secondly, even if it was, he might not remember her. A guy who looked like that

probably got hundreds of offers of sex daily.

So thirdly, maybe it wasn't as special to him as it was to her. Suddenly, Sera realized she

desperately needed to know that part, especially.

Maybe she could talk to him? After class, she could casually go up and see if he even

remembered meeting her, saving her, kissing the length of her legs breathlessly.

Okay. So that was the plan, then.

First, she had to meet him, face-to-face. Then, and only then, she would see...
